Baby, Baby, Baby. We were graced with your presence!
I saw Baby for the first time in Portland, Oregon, being exhibited by Lois Shrout in the Bred By Exhibitor Class at the Bulldog Club of America Nationals. Baby and Lois were right behind me in the line-up of that class.
When I saw Baby it was love at first sight. She had many of the qualities that we were hoping to accentuate in our existing line. (And she's an awesome shade of red to boot.) So, I started on a long (almost three year) journey of attempting to convince Lois that Baby should come to the East Coast.
Baby joined the Team here at Red Brick in late 2002, and we prepared Baby for the Spring Bulldog Specialties. We must have prepared very well, because Baby was awarded Best of Breed at the Long Island Bulldog Club Specialty in February of 2003!
Baby was bred by Lois Shrout and Carolyn Workman, and was co-owned by Red Brick and Lois Shrout. Baby had two litters, and her puppy "Babette" is pictured on our "Home Team" page. Another of her promising offspring is from her second litter. His name is "Turtle" and he resides with Lois Shrout in Indiana.
Special Thanks to Lois Shrout and Delmar Shackleford for their trust, knowledge, and continued support.
After Baby completed her show and breeding career, she was spayed and placed with our friend Diane Gloyd, where she lived the remainder of her days enjoying lots of "bling bling." She passed away in the May of 2006.
Our hearts are all broken from the loss of our "Baby" who brought so much joy to so many people.
