We acquired Clyde in October 2004. He was a Canadian import from Proudheart Bulldogs in British Columbia, bred by Marke and Doni Steele. Clyde's sire was a South African import from Mihanlo and his dam was a bitch bred by Proudheart Bulldogs.
Clyde was a big, healthy, vigorous dog with tremendous substance and bone. He had sired a handful of litters in Canada, and he had passed his outstanding qualities on to his get here in the United States as well.
Special thanks to Marke and Doni for allowing Clyde to share his humor and liveliness with us, even though it was for far too short a time.
We did not have a necropsy performed on Clyde when he passed. Preliminary x-rays and bloodwork that were done when Clyde first got ill lead us to the belief that he had a type of aggressive gastro-intestinal cancer. At the time he passed, Clyde was being treated for infection secondary to his disease process. We were stunned at his passing, as we thought he had stabilized and was doing better.
Clyde legacy lives on at Red Brick in his daughter "Precious" as well as his grandkids "Mike" and "DeeGee" who are part of our Home Team.
Good-bye to our Clyde. Here's hoping that you are resting easy in a high place.
