Faith was bred by Doni Steele of Proudheart Bulldogs, British Columbia, Canada. She was whelped on December 5th, 1998.

I had met Doni Steele, Faith's breeder, at the Bulldog Club of America National Show in Oklahoma City. Actually, I noticed her dogs long before Doni and I ever had the opportunity to chat. I realized that Doni's dogs had many of the qualities that we wanted to emphasize here at Red Brick. Mainly, great respiratory systems, correct toplines and tailsets, and sound, strong movement. So, I made arrangements to travel to Canada to visit Doni and her dogs, and bring home a pup. Faith was the pick pup from a litter of seven. Her pedigree was mostly English and Canadian lines.

Faith was a sweet, intelligent, playful girl, and made a huge impact on our lives and the lives of her fellow pack members in a very short period of time.

Her name, Faith, was symbolic of the trust that Doni and I have in each other. Doni made an important decision when she allowed me to bring her best bitch to the States. And I had "faith" in the fact that we were making the right choice for this bitch to become a future integral part of our pedigree.

Faith whelped a key litter of 6 in the Spring of 2003. Faith's produce continues to have vital influence in our current breeding program.

She finished her AKC championship by getting the single point she needed on August 5th, 2005. See below for a great picture of her in a pool of ice on the day she finished.

Faith passed away quietly in her sleep. She had been diagnosed with a splenic mass about 6 months earlier.

Losing Faith really symobolizes the end of an era for us here at Red Brick. She represented vital decisions that were made in regards to our focus on health, and risks that were taken to get the Red Brick breeding program to where it is today. It was heartbreaking to lose her, and we miss her every day. The only consolation we have is seeing her eyes in the eyes of her children, grandchildren, and now her great grand-kids, too. Rest in peace, our beautiful Faith.
